Strange News: Hunter Sounds Turkey Call, Coyote Responds
A hunter in Maine discovered the hard way that he wasn't the only one hunting turkeys on Monday, thanks to a hungry coyote. Bill Robinson reportedly used a turkey call to try to attract one of the birds, but managed only to send a coyote leaping into the bushes at him.
Following the call, the coyote instinctively lept into the bushes Robinson was hiding in and bit, clamping down on his arm, reports the Maine Sun-Journal. The confused animal released the hunter and bolted as soon as it realized Robinson wasn't a turkey. "It was as shocked and surprised to see me, as I was to see it," he said.
Robinson was treated at a local hospital, and given a battery of shots to stave off infection from the bite.
