The Picky Eater

Summer time is family time, so people will be bringing their kids along to cook-outs and a good host always has kid-friendly options available. The rule of thumb to follow when trying to feed picky eaters is to keep it fun! If kids are distracted by having a good time, they won't even realize the food they are eating.

For a main dish, make chicken nuggets. Cube skinless chicken breasts, dip in an egg wash, cover in breadcrumbs and seasoning and bake or fry until cooked. Fill squirt bottles with ketchup, sweet and sour sauce and barbecue sauce for the kids to decorate their plates with.

Have a selection of side dishes and snacks like mini grilled corn on the cob, cheese cubes and toasted whole-grain white bread. They won't even know it's good for them!

For dessert, keep it simple with cookies, ice cream or chopped fruit. Use cocktail swords for the kids to pick up diced fruit with caramel or chocolate for dipping.
