Evanescence Begin Work On Album #3
Evanescence has started recording their long-awaited third album, according to Rolling Stone.
Frontwoman Amy Lee says, Theres a lot of stuff that doesnt sound like Evanescence, but the heart of the band [is] still there. She cites electro-oriented bands like Massive Attach, MGMT and Portishead as influences on the as-yet-untitled disc.
Amy is working on the album with producer Steve Lillywhite, whom she calls, quote, a big part of the team. Lillywhite has of course worked with U2 and many other bands and most recently made headlines for posting a tongue-in-cheek video on YouTube in which he made a pitch for Simon Cowell's job on American Idol.
Evanescence hasn't released an album since The Open Door in 2006. In the interim, Amy got married and began taking harp lessons while the band went through some lineup changes. Nevertheless, she sounds like she isnt worred that people have forgotten her while shes been away. She says, Im not trying to prove anything this time...Im just having fun with music.
